OUR INSTITUTION

 

SINCE  INCEPTION

  • The first lamp of B.Ed  was lit by Prof.Ravada Satyanarayana,Vice Chancellor  O.U. in 1971

  • College of Education building was  inaugurated  by Dr.N.Ramesam, Secretary(Edn.) Govt. A.P.  in 1974. In the same year College was admitted  to grant-in-aid. 

  • In 1976 college was admitted to section 2F of UGC 

  • In 1980 C.D.Deshmukh inaugurated the Science Lab & Library Block

  • In 1984  college saw the second lamp of Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, lit by Dr.M.Venkata Reddy, Director,School Edn.

  • In 1987 E.C.E. Centre (Lab School)  launched by  Dr.Saroj Kaparthe Union Minister

  • In 1989 ICDS project launched by Smt.Chithra Nayak  College identified as SRC

  • In 1992 M.Ed programme inagurated by Prof.G.Rami Reddy, UGC,Chairman

  • In 1996 College celebrated Silver Jubilee

  • Lab School Block inaugurated

  • In 1997 Hostel Building was inaugurated by Prince Muffakham Jah, Chairman of Nizamís Charitable Trust

  • In 1997 College  upgraded to College of Teacher Education, a unique  privilege conferred on a Private Aided College of Education.

  • In 1999 CTE Building inaugurated H.E.Dr.Rangarajan,Governor  A.P.

  • 2000 B.Ed.Spl.Edn.(H.I) recognized by RCI.

  • 2002 Telugu Pandit Training Course started  financial support from UGC and Govt.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF EDUCATION

  • To understand  Philosophical, Sociological, Psychological and Economic bases of Education.

  • Library: Provokes thought  The college is proud of its digitized library which has more than 10,000 books on a range of subjects.

  • Physical Sciences Lab: Oscillates and accelerates the pace of work. A well equipped physical science lab offers plenty of scope for experimentation.

  • Biological Sciences Lab: Traces ancestry - Specimens here provide enough room for taxonomy.

  • Computer Lab: Information super Highway Equipped with 25  systems, CD-R/W, Printer and Scanner the computer lab takes us into the cyber-space

  • Audiology Lab: Hears and determines the degree of impairment

  • Psychology Lab: Probes the psyche The cozy room is the center of all psychological tests.

  • Social Studies & School Study Laboratory: Pivot and  hub of the community. Maps, charts and models ,makes it a global village.

  • Cultural Studies Lab: Encultures and cuts across cultural barriers

  • Language Lab: Articulates CTE,AMS - LINKAGES

Achievements

  • This is one of the  institutions in the country to have started a course to train teachers at Early Childhood Level (with minimum graduation as eligiblity) P.G.Dip.in Early Childhood Education.

  • This is the only private aided college to be upgraded to CTE in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

  • It is one of the Private Colleges in the state to offer one year B.Ed.Spl.Edn.(H.I) Course along with National Institution, approved by Rehabilitation Council of India. 

  • The College received 55 lakhs for construction work and 13 lakhs for equipment from MHRD under CTE scheme under IX Plan period. 

  • In appreciation to our outstanding performance, the CTE scheme is continued in X plan and XI plan period also. 

  • This is the only college offering training courses for women teachers from KG to PG.

  • A document  on Learning Competencies for classes VI & VII: This is a unique distinction for the college. The then Director of school Education Dr.Manmohan Singh released the manual and requested CTE AMS to prepare Learning Competencies for  Class  VIII
